Process: HR Self Improvement - 'TODAY I BEGIN A NEW LIFE"

Providing outstanding amazing values through process clarity and improvement

This is the first step towards richness and wealth.  We depart from psyche mindset of the poorto that of the wealthy.  We open our minds.  We empty our cups...

10 FYI 024. Business Matters. TODAY I BEGIN A NEW LIFE. (iNNOVATE OR DIE)

This came from Og Mandino - The world's greatest salesman  This is one of the ten scrolls.

The rest of the scrolls:

was a man who lived a very interesting life. He is best known for his bestselling book “The Greatest Salesman in the World” one of the classics of self-help.

The book is not a manual to become a top salesperson, but rather an inspiring tool to motivate yourself to be successful.

Augusto "Og"  Mandino’s 10 scroll principles are easy and life-changing:

Scroll 1 – Today I begin a new life.
Scroll 2 –  I will greet this day with love in my heart.
Scroll 3 –  I will persist until I succeed.
Scroll 4 –  I am nature’s greatest miracle.
Scroll 5 –  I will live this day as if it is my last.
Scroll 6 – Today I will be master of my emotions.
Scroll 7 –  I will laugh at the world. (Keep perspective)
Scroll 8 –  Today I will multiply my value a hundredfold.
Scroll 9 –  I will act now, I will act now, I will act now.

Scroll 10 –  I will pray for guidance.

Subject:   Innovate or die

1.  If we keep on doing the same thing expecting a different result, that is insanity
      Albert Einstein

2.  To gain better results and be better in our jobs, we have to change the way we think, and behave.  We have to change our paradigm and mindset

3.  Things as simple as getting to work early, being meticulous being determined, being inclusive are simple things to change.  But most of us are on autopilot, and which is convenient that we hardly change.  We are victims of our own habits.

4,  New life comes from new way of thinking

 5. According to Elon Musk, after 50 years, the next 50 years must be totally different from the first 50 years.  It can ber
hard.   Find your hard.  You must think of products industry or job totally different from what you have now

We even fight or kill if someone attempts to change our habit

4.  To a worm in a horse radish, the world is the horse radish.  Thus we  have to get out of the box and/or think differently

The changes in the way we live did not come from within the industry:

     1.  Netflix did not come from TV station or video rental;
     2.  FB did not come from mass media company;
     3.  Paypal was not invented by  a bank or financial services company

Would like to be a dinosaur?   Or us the dinosaur?
Are we prepared for the future?   Remember, the future becomes the present and the present becomes the past.  If we are so focussed on the present -  the next 15 or
30th pay check or separation pay, we are guaranteeing  our demise or falling  into the past oblivion

So, either we adapt now, or its over.

What is this “Adaptation” of which you speak?

I’ll pick this up in another blog but, put simply, there are four questions to ask yourself and your senior management team:

  • Do we accept that rapid advances in technology (e.g. artificial intelligence, blockchain, Moore’s Law, virtual reality, hyper connectivity) are imminently set to challenge most of our basic working assumptions?
  • Do we believe that total innovative disruption to our industry is highly likely (or even inevitable) at some point in the next three to five years?
  • Do we think Facebook, Apple or Amazon will probably try to eat our lunch Deliveroo style?
  • Are we urgently deploying significant resources towards adapting for the new era?

If the answer to any of the above is “not really”, your Tuesday afternoon could be about to get interesting!

In conclusion…

Change is upon us! Of that there is no doubt. The only question is how we handle it. One approach is to embrace it full on. To understand that massive disruption approaches and that, if we adapt and get involved, it will be innovative and empowering. This is the means by which we shall dramatically improve the futures of 100 million people and more. Technology cannot do it all. Judgement, Experience, Instinct and Compassionate Sacrifice are inherently human qualities. There will always be room for those.
